The great thing about writing a music blog is that you can u write from the soul. It is a writeup about lifestyle and it is fun. So, it isn’t really a job until you are faced with many obstacles but you have to deliver. It’s another time for Artiste in focus. And this week, we have Tẹ́nì and Joeboy.
Teni
Teniola Àpáta is the younger sister of Niniola Àpáta who has become popular in the music industry. Tẹ́nì Makanaki as she is fondly called is a Nigerian singer, songwrite and an entertainer. She got into the world of music in 2016 when she was signed to Shizzi’s Magic Fingers Records. She recorded and released her debut single “Amen” with the record label. But in 2017, she left the record label and got signed with Dr. Dolor Entertainment. With her new record label, she released her first hit song fargin. Fargin was a the song that gave her a national recognition in the world of music. She was being referred to as the afro voice. She didn’t stop at fargin or give the song some time to die down. She released other hit singles like; “Askamaya”, “Case” and “Uyo Meyo”. In fact, “Askamaya” was ranked 15th on MTV Base’s year-end list of the Top 20 Hottest Naija Tracks of 2018.
Without a doubt, talent runs in the àpáta family. The unique artiste chose her own style of music. She won Rookie of the Year at the 2018 Headies Award. Her song also made way for her to win Most Promising Act to Watch at the 2018 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. She also won Best New Artist at the 2018 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival. However, NotJustOk ranked her eighth on its list of the 10 Hottest Artists In Nigeria.
However, in 20 February 2019, Teni was featured on YouTube Music’s Trending Artist on the Rise. Her love for her work and music left her with consistency. On May 3, 2019, she released the video for “Sugar Mummy”. On June 14, 2019, she released a new single titled “Power Rangers”.
Teni has some new music to serenade our eardrums and make us move our hips. Songs like Jo are phenomenal to the afro music world. Teni’s genre is majorly Afro. When she is not doing music, she is making people laugh that’s why she’s an entertainer.
